England stepped in Pakistan after seventeen years for a seven-match T20I series. The two teams played their first T20I in Karachi on Tuesday (September 20). One must admit that it turned out to be a one-sided dominance from the Three Lions.
Speaking of the match, England skipper Moeen Ali won the toss and decided to hunt down the target. It was a usual routine for the Men in Green as Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan faced the new ball up front. Amid the strike rate crisis, the duo looked like proving the masses wrong with their aggressive intent.
Pakistan ended up at 51/0 at the end of the powerplay and the openers laid the foundation for a big total. After a tremendous opening partnership with the wicketkeeper, the skipper returned to the pavilion in the tenth over. Fans predicted that it might be a start of a great collapse and it turned out to be true much to the delight of England fans.
The Men in Green started to collapse like a pack of cards and remained at 125/4 before the start of the seventeenth over. Luke Wood turned out to be the star pacer for England as he bagged a three-for and restricted Pakistan to 158.
England prove a point against Pakistan
Pakistani bowler Shahnawaz Dahani picked up the first wicket for 19 runs. Dawid Malan kept sailing with the ship and steadied things for the middle-order batters. England had a decent powerplay as they managed to amass 47 runs taking advantage of fielding restrictions.
Alex Hales, the guy who donned the England jersey after a long time, did everything right. The star grabbed the opportunity with both hands and scored a valiant half-century for the team. The mercy was upon the batter as he got out only after scoring a fifty.
Harry Brook scored the winning runs for England and took the team home against a fiery Pakistan pace attack. The Three Lions took the lead in the series and proved a point ahead of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. A match never ends without fans coming up with interesting tweets. Here are a few great tweets from Pakistan - England clash:
Sir @iramizraja i was very excited for this series #PakvsEng tbh. But the show was very poor, There was no spice in the pitch no big scoring runs & no bounce was expecting thriller as a big fan@TheRealPCB

Over hype, lost confidence, the coaching staff are 1 dimensional, poor strategy. Everything under the sun !
