Most Olympic Medals – Gao Ling:
Gao Ling’s record speaks for her abilities. The champion shuttler from China holds numerous records to her name. She is one of the most successful doubles players in Badminton. Gao Ling alongside Zhang Jun won gold in doubles in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics consecutively.
Gao Ling holds the record for most Olympic medals by a shuttler. The recipient of a silver medal in women’s doubles and a gold medal in mixed doubles in 2000. She also won a bronze medal in women’s doubles and a gold medal in mixed doubles at the 2004 Olympics as well.

Most Superseries titles (46) – Lee Chong Wei:
Lee Chong Wei, the Malaysian-born shuttler, is considered to be one of the best. He won a silver medal in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. Lee Chong Wei announced his forced retirement from the game on 13 June 2019 due to personal health issues.
Lee Chong Wei has won the most Superseries titles. He has a mammoth 46 Superseries titles and it is still a record to be broken by shuttlers of the modern era.
Fastest Smash ever (408kmph) – Lee Chong Wei:
Lee Chong Wei gets featured again for his fastest smash of 408kmph. After being dropped for 8 months, Lee Chong Wei made a comeback in the year 2015 to the international arena.
During the Hong Kong Open, Lee Chong Wei came up with a fiery smash. It was so fierce that it measured 408kmph on record. This is the fastest ever smash in Badminton history. The record looks unbeatable for now.
Super Grand Slam record – Lin Dan:
The Chinese-born shuttler, Lin Dan, is considered to be a legend of the game. He became the first player to defend the Olympic gold medal. He won a gold in Beijing Olympics in 2008 and successfully defended it 2012 Olympics.
Lin Dan won the Super Grand Slam at the age of 28. He is the first and only player to have achieved this feat. At 28, Lin Dan won the Olympics, World Cup, World Championships, Asian Championships, Super Series Masters Finals, Sudirman Cup, All England Open, Thomas Cup and Asian Games.
Two Successive Gold Medals at Olympics (Doubles) - Fu Haifeng:
Fu Haifeng is a former Chinese doubles legend. Regarded as one of the greatest Men’s double players of all time, Fu Haifeng has unique records to his name. He ranked number one in September 2006 alongside Cai Yun and it makes him a legend.
Fu Haifeng also has two consecutive gold medals in Olympics. He won a gold in the 2012 London Olympics in Men’s doubles category and defended it in 2016 by winning gold in Men’s doubles at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
