'3 GOATs with 0 trophies’ - Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle arrive at Bangalore for unboxing event ahead of Indian T20 League

The iconic trio of the Bangalore franchise, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle, is all set to reunite again on March 26, when the franchise will unveil its jersey for the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League in the unboxing event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

De Villiers was a part of the Bangalore franchise from 2011-2021 before he retired from all forms of cricket. While Gayle also joined Bangalore in 2011 and played till 2018, before moving to the Punjab franchise. The franchise will also honour their ex-players by retiring their jersey numbers, (ABD - 17) (Gayle - 333). and both legendary cricketers will be inducted into Bangalore’s Hall Of Fame. Apart from this, there will live performances from Jason Derulo, Sonu Nigam, Tulsi Kumar and Aditi Singh Sharma. Thermal and a Quarter, a Bengaluru-based rock band.

Kohli to play his 16th season for Bangalore

Meanwhile, Kohli, who has been part of the franchise will also be a part of the event. The star Indian cricketer will be playing his 16th season for Bangalore in the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. With less than a day left for the event, the excitement is at its peak as Kohli, ABD, and Gayle have arrived in Bangalore city and the Chinnaswamy stadium is being prepared for the mega event.

The 16th edition of the Indian T20 League will kickstart on March 31st with an opening match between the defending champions Gujarat and the four times champion Chennai at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The tournament will be played across the country after four years and 12 cities will host the matches. Meanwhile, Bangalore will begin their 2023 campaign at their home ground with a match against the Mumbai franchise on April 2nd.
