Team India will play three ODI matches against Zimbabwe from 18th to 22nd August 2022. The Men in Blue are currently on a tour of West Indies. They have already won the ODI series and are currently leading the five-match T20I series by a 2-1 margin.

Right after this tour, the Indian team will be up against Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI series. Harare Sports Club will host the three matches. In this article, we have named three potential bowlers who might end up picking most wickets in the series.

1) Axar Patel:

Axar Patel was a part of the Indian team that toured Zimbabwe in 2015-16. The all-rounder has been in good form of late with the ball. He has performing well consistently across formats.

Axar Patel has played 6 matches in Zimbabwe and has picked a total of 8 wickets. Out of the 54 overs he bowled last time in Zimbabwe, the all-rounder conceded only 184 runs. With enough experience in the bank, he can surprise everyone by picking up the most number of wickets for India.

2) Kuldeep Yadav:

Kuldeep Yadav will play as the lead spinner in the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal. The spinner has 109 scalps to his name in the one-day Internationals. And the Zimbabwe batters have never faced him. With enough variations and two hattricks to his name, Kuldeep Yadav might go all out against the Zimbabweans.

He has a great chance to become the leading wicket-taker for India on the tour. The player would try to replicate his 2018 form where he picked 45 wickets in the 19 matches that he played.

3) Deepak Chahar:

Deepak Chahar will be making a comeback in the series after a brief halt. The hunger to take wickets will be there and might push him to take more wickets than usual. Deepak Chahar has better average at home but, there is no denying that he has improved over time.

Deepak Chahar will face Zimbabwe for the first time in his career. He has picked 10 wickets in the 7 ODIs that he has played. In the last five matches played at Harare, teams batting second have won it four times. Deepak Chahar might end up getting the most wickets if India bowl first in at least two of the three matches that they play. He could be crucial in the initial 10 overs.
