20-20 World Cup 2022: Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup announced, Jasprit Bumrah returns

India had a poor outing in the Asia Cup 2022 despite ending the campaign on a high. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket Team's squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022 was announced on Monday (September 12).

Rohit Sharma will lead the side, while KL Rahul will be his deputy. The middle-order comprises the likes of Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant. Hardik Pandya will be the all-rounder in the squad along with Axar Patel, while Dinesh Karthik will don the finisher's role.

As for the bowling attack, Jasprit Bumrah returns to the squad along with Harshal Patel. They will share the fast bowling duties alongside with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin occupy their position in the spin department.

Besides, the likes of M Shami, Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar have been picked in the list of standby players.

“Yes, there are a lot of questions we need to answer, and along the way in the three-four series we’ve played, we have found some answers. After this, we have two more series and then the World Cup. Till our squad is announced, we can try out a few players,” the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said earlier during a post-match presser.

The Indian selectors have gone with a similar squad almost but with a few changes to the Indian squad as opined by Rohit Sharma earlier. The Indian team will look to hunt the 20-20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia with a strong squad.
