The high-voltage clash of the 20-20 World Cup between India and Pakistan is set to be played on October 23 at the iconic venue, Melbourne Cricket Ground. However, Accuweather and other forecasters predict that the epic clash could get washed out due to rain.

The local forecasters fear that the La Nina weather event that Australia is entering on October 21 could last for more than a week and Melbourne might face the wrath of the unfortunate event as well, and Sydney, the other iconic city, will also be impacted by the event.

With a 96% chance for rain on October 21 and October 22, the precipitation on October 23 is 60% and the match might get called off without a single ball being bowled. However, the fans, on the other hand, hope that they could witness some action after all the hype that has been going on around the epic battle.

India must toil hard to make it to semis

Group B is full of brutal pace and aggressive batters, as India is grouped alongside South Africa and Pakistan. The clash against Bangladesh will be a tough one, but India is the favourite to seal the win against Shakib Al Hasan and his men.

The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, said that the current team would look to win the title after 15 years. Further, the captain admitted that it has been a while since India won the 20-20 World Cup and added that the team would take one step at a time.

India’s chances to make it to the summit clash look extremely tough as Pakistan and South Africa are in stupendous form. Even if the Pakistan clash gets washed out, the match against the Proteas will be a crucial one for the Indian men. However, Rohit is confident in taking his team home and giving the best for the country and people.

"It's been a while since we have won the World Cup. Obviously, the motive and the whole thought process is to win the World Cup, but we know that we need to do a lot of things right to get there, so one step at a time for us," Rohit was quoted as saying by the Indian cricket board in the official website.

“You just need to focus on each team that you are going to come against and try to do your best and prepare well against each team and make sure we move in the right direction,” said the skipper further.
